[break][break] sure enough, a pokemon blocks their path. it is a gumshoos — the feline bumps into him and then finds himself staring down at the leer of the intimidating mongoose. he squeaks with surprise and jumps back, electricity sparkling along his spine.

[break][break] "ignore him," jayden says, beginning to walk away from the both of them. the shinx hesitates for a moment, looking between he and the gumshoos, before following jayden a bit down the path.

[attr="class","jayden"] the shinx ignores him sucessfully but then makes a fatal flaw. in his excitement, he dashes forward and finds himself face-to-face with another enemy.

[break][break] this time it's an espeon and boy, does he not look friendly.

[break][break] his shinx squeaks, scrambling backwards and darting behind jayden's legs. unfortuantely, his trainer is not sympathetic enough to allow him to hide. after all, even as young as he is, the shinx is still jayden's pokemon. that meant he was a rocket, which meant that he needed to learn to protect himself at whatever the cost.

[break][break] the espeon bristles, body glowing with the start of confusion.

[break][break] "dodge! use take down!"

[break][break] hesitating for a moment, the kitten leaps forward onto the pavement. he stumbles down it, attempting a lop-sided tackle however the espeon avoids it easily. "don't let him get away. thunder wave." sparks fly from the pokemon's blue coat — it's by no means strong, but a lucky hit. the espeon crumbles to the paralysis and jayden tosses a pokeball at it.
